The Lethbridge Hurricanes are now halfway through their 2014 WHL pre-season schedule.
The Canes played the Calgary Hitmen in Coaldale Friday night. The Hitmen had 5 different goal scorers as they beat Lethbridge 5-3 in front of roughly 600 fans.
The Hurricanes had goals from Pavel Skumatov, Zach Goberies, and Ryan Vandervlis.
The goaltending duties were split between Zac Robidoux and Stuart Skinner. The final shots in the game favoured the Hitmen 37-20.
The loss drops the Hurricanes exhibition record to 1-2 with three games remaining before the regular season gets underway September 19th.
The Canes next action is Wednesday (Sept. 10) when they host the Medicine Hat Tigers at the ENMAX Centre. Game time is 7:00 pm MDT.
Lethbridge will wrap up the pre-season with two games in the Crowsnest Pass. Friday (Sept. 12) against the Kootenay ICE and Saturday (Sept. 13) versus the Calgary Hitmen. Both of those games will take place in Blairmore.
Thanks,
Pat
Best forward (or the one that stood out) was Jaeger White. The 16 year old look right at home centering between the two Russians. White has speed, skill and puck sense. If the Canes are going to have a couple of 16 year olds on their roster, he should be one for sure and maybe Connor Rokosh on the blue line.
