Hurricanes 1-1 After First Two Pre-Season Games

The Lethbridge Hurricanes spit their firs two WHL pre-season games this weekend.

The Canes came from behind Friday to beat the Prince Albert Raiders 2-1 in a shootout. Carter Amson scored the lone regulation time goal for the Canes, while the game winner was scored by Jamal Watson in the shootout. The Canes played a strong game, out shooting the Raiders 38-24. Zac Robidoux & Stuart Skinner split time in goal.

The next day the Regina Pats broke a 2-2 tie in the 3rd period with three goals in the final frame to get past the Hurricanes 5-2. The Pats out shot the Hurricanes 38-23 in that game. Stuart Skinner and Jonny Hogue split the goaltending duties.  Jaeger White and Riley Sheen scored the two Lethbridge goals. The loss dropped the Hurricanes early exhibition record to 1-1 with four more games to go in the pre-season schedule.

The Canes are back in southern Alberta for the remainder of their exhibition schedule. Their next action is Friday (Sept. 5) when they take on the Calgary Hitmen in Coaldale. Game time is 7:00 pm MDT.

Thanks,
Pat
