Final Pre-Season Game: Canes' Beat Calgary 5-1

Tonight, the Hurricanes will close out what has been a successful exhibition schedule so far for the hockey club.

The Canes' have gone 3-1-0-1 in five games, including a 3-2 win over the Hitmen Friday night in the Crowsnest Pass. Tonight's game will take place at the EDGE school in Calgary. I will provide scoring updates throughout the course of the game as I have throughout the pre-season.

First off though, I need to offer an apology. Last night, when posting the scratches for the game, I said that Adam Henry had been reassigned. That is NOT the case. Henry is still with the Hurricanes and the information I reported before last night's game was incorrect and reported that by mistake. I take full blame for the error. I would like to apologize to Adam Henry and his family as well as the Hurricanes Hockey Management staff for reporting that in error. I certainly understand how hard these young men work to try and make this team and wish each and everyone of them the best as we get ready for the regular season in less than a week!

Tonight's Hurricanes Scratches:

Brandon Anderson, Derek Ryckman, Brandyn Hulit, Daniel Johnston, Mark Reners, Jacob Berglund, Mitch Guiel, Phil Tot, Brody Sutter, Neil Tarnasky, and Reid Jackson. Can Braes is back. He'll play in his first pre-season game tonight after spending the last week or so attending the San Jose Sharks camp. Tanner Kovacs will start in goal for Lethbridge.

Lethbridge finishes pre-season with a 4-1-0-1 record. Hurricanes open the regular season Friday night (Sept. 24) at the Saddledome against the Hitmen LIVE on CJOC with the pre-game show at 6:30pm (MDT)

  11. Pat - The very sincere apology regarding the misinformation on Adam is much appreciated. We kind of freaked when we read the blog last night, but were VERY glad to find out the information was erroneous. We are very hopeful for Adam and the entire team. They are playing great! And those of us that are afar appreciate your blog.

    Proud Henry Family member :)

  14. I am sure Adam Henry's parents and Adam himself have forgiven you after your heartfelt apology.
Excuse me if I am being overly descriptive, but your statement really seemed like it was from the heart.

  15. Yes it was 5-1. My source had to leave the rink with a couple of minutes left. But yes, it was a great preseason. Hopefully this carries over. Very promising season ahead. Go Canes'!

  17. Me too! This off season has been way too long. Freddie and I have been getting things ready. As for the guy asking about the iPhone app for CJOC, we are hoping Apple approves it by the end of this week. It's a pretty long process. I will post up details once I get the green light from my boss. We are pretty excited about it!
