Hurricanes This Week Monday Night

Well, the pre-season has come and gone and now it's time to get ready for a brand new season of Lethbridge Hurricanes hockey.

In doing so, we at 94.1, CJOC will kick off our WHL season with our regular Monday night hockey talk show, Hurricanes This Week. This season, we will offer 23-one hour talk shows starting Monday, September 20 at 6pm (MDT), hosted by myself and our broadcast Colour Analyst Fred Jack. The shows will also be available for download on http://www.cjocfm.com/ later on in the week. I'll have more details on that as the week goes on.

Our first Hurricanes This Week show will feature the Hurricanes Media Roundtable. Joining Freddie and I will be Paul Kingsmith from Global TV Sports and Dylan Purcell from the Lethbridge Herald. If we have time we will take a few phone calls and emails. The email address stays the same. To reach the hockey show or on the broadcast send an email to hurricanes@pttwireless.ca.

With a new season comes higher expectations for the Lethbridge Hurricanes. If pre-season was any indication, it should be a fun year to watch this team. The managed four wins in 6 games in exhibition. They are noticeably bigger, faster, and more determined. Like Associate Coach Matt Kabyama told me a week ago, more of a chip on their shoulder given the on-ice struggles of last season. The was then, this now. The team seems to have a good blend of veterans and youth, a much more experienced defence, strong goaltending, and a little more fire power on offence too. Lots to discuss!

Thanks,
Pat

  1. When will the Hurricanes set their final roster for the 2010/11 season and where will they post it?

  2. I'm told today no reassignments will be made today. Likely not till Tuesday or Wednesday will a roster be put out. The Hurricanes have a few injuries they're dealing with right now too. That will factor into any roster decisions for opening night. I will post a roster on the blog once the Canes finalize things in the next day or so.
