The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Organization is applying for a provincial
grant to assist in paying off some of its capital debt.
Representatives with the hockey club came before City Council Tuesday (Sept. 6) and
received a letter of support to apply for $600,000 from the
Capital Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP).
Hurricanes President Doug Paisley says the money would go toward paying off
its share of the capital debt for the renovations to the Enmax Center.
The Hurricanes have just over $2 million left to pay for the major
renovations to the Enmax Center as the building's main tenant.
The club is making annual payments of $176,000 to the City to
cover its share of the renos.
