Hurricanes Sign Two Prospects

The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club is excited to announce that the team has signed forwards Jayden Davis and Connor Lyons to Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreements.

Lyons, 17, was undrafted in the WHL Bantam Draft. The Lethbridge, Alberta product spent the 2015-2016 season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes Midget AAA in the Alberta Midget Hockey League where in 34 games he registered 23 points (7g-16a) along with 34 penalty minutes. Lyons added three goals in three post-season games. In 2014-2015, the 5’11”, 182 pound left winger scored 60 points (23g-37a) along with 64 penalty minutes with the Lethbridge Hurricanes Minor Midget
in the AMMHL. Connor is the son of former Hurricanes star, Corey Lyons.

Davis, 16, will turn 17 in November. He was also undrafted in the WHL Bantam Draft. The product of Alameda, Saskatchewan spent the last two season with the Moose Jaw Generals of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. During the 2015-2016 season, Davis appeared in 39 games registering 23 points (10g-13a) along with 26 penalty minutes. The 5’10”, 175-pound left winger added seven points (4g-3a) in nine playoff games. He is no relation to Hurricanes forward Brett Davis.

The Hurricanes continue to carry a total of 28 players including three goaltenders, eight defensemen and 17 forwards.

The Hurricanes continue the ENMAX Pre-Season this Friday when they host the Swift Current Broncos at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00 pm.

  1. Excited to see the season is almost upon us. The chatter is the Hurricanes could be one of the teams to beat this year. Let's hope that is true and the boys experience a long and successful season!
