WHL TRADE: Canes Deal Warkentine to Broncos For Pick

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have made a trade with Swift Current, sending Miles Warkentine to the Broncos for a conditional 7th round Bantam pick in 2017.

The Hurricanes acquired Warkentine in May of 2014 when they traded Kolten Olynek to Moose Jaw for the 5’11, 185 pounds Centre. In 125 career WHL games, Warkentine has 19 points (6G, 13A) and 35 PIM’s. The native of Prince Albert, SK played 19 games for the Hurricanes with a pair of goals and 3 points this season, he was a minus-7 plus/minus rating and had 7 PIM’s.

“It was a difficult start to the season for Miles, hampered by a foot injury, but he worked hard to get back into the lineup and do the things we asked him too. We do wish him well as he continues his career with Swift Current” stated General Manger and Head Coach Peter Anholt.
