The Lethbridge Hurricanes made another trade deadline deal Saturday morning by sending Bryton Sayers to the Victoria Royals for a 5th round Bantam draft pick in 2016.

Sayers, a 1996-born defenceman from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan was the Hurricanes 3rd round (48th overall) Bantam pick in the 2011 draft. In 84 career games with the Hurricanes Sayers has 21 points (6G, 15A) and 56 penalty minutes. This season he put up 10 points (2G, 8A) in 38 games.

“Bryton has been a solid player for our hockey club. He’s a good character guy; good in the dressing room as well as being excellent in the community” stated Hurricanes General Manager and Head Coach Peter Anholt.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes would like to thank Sayers for all his hard work both on and off the ice and we wish him the best as he continues his WHL career with the Victoria Royals.
