Hurricanes Honour "Off-Ice Heroes"

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are proud to announce an exciting new Season Ticket and Voucher package in support of all the men and women who continue to give back to the Lethbridge and Southern Alberta community on a day to day basis. The Hurricanes “Off Ice Heroes” package is the hockey club’s way of demonstrating our respect and appreciation for these individuals:

- Health Services Workers
- Educators
- Police Services
- Fire and Emergency Service
- Canadian Forces

Each Off Ice Heroes Package includes:
- A Lethbridge Hurricanes Adult Season Ticket Package OR Lethbridge Hurricanes 36 Game Adult Voucher Pack
- A FREE (9) Game Student Voucher Package – full ‘in season’ retail value of $144.

• The ‘Off Ice Heroes package’ would also qualify for our existing ‘value added’ incentives which that have a retail value of $65.
• Voucher Packs are redeemable for any game ticket and are a good fit for using multiple tickets to fewer games, or shift workers that often work at night.
• The Student Game Vouchers – are to be used at the discretion of the Off Ice Hero – the vouchers can be given to students or youth.

“We recognize that these groups are strong contributors to the local community. In keeping with the Hurricanes being a community owned team, we feel that this aligns with our position in the market.” Says Hurricanes Business Manager Jim Bradley adding “Often times these people are giving to youth out of their own pocket, we feel this program enables them to give to students and youth.”

If you are already a Hurricanes Season Ticket Holder and qualify for the Off Ice Heroes package – be sure to contact OJ in the Hurricanes office for full details on how you too can take advantage of this special offer.

  1. That's nice but there are so many more heroes in our community. What about the good folks who volunteer endlessly at the food banks and soup kitchens? Or those who work with the handicapped so they can be a contributing members of society? The list goes on but apparently they are just not heroic enough to qualify.

  2. Pandering. Cops really? With all the taxation they do with red light cameras and photo radar and other means the city could buy tickets for them. Nice promotion. Looks good but come on this is just pandering.

  3. This is a joke ! what about the people that have paid for seasons tickets for years , and supported the teams through the good and bad ......think it is time to cancel the season's tickets !!!

  4. As a 16 year season ticket holder who made sure to pay for my tickets early enough to qualify for the $459 price, I am offended to think after all my support some new season ticket holder is going to benefit even more than I did because they are a hero. I think all the season ticket holders who have supported this team through thick and thin are the real heroes that the organization should be catering to. I would appreciate hearing from the new business manager how he justifies this. Anonymous is right. It may be time to cancel the season tickets.

  5. I don't get it... This write up makes no mention of any cost associated with this 'package.' Either it is very poorly worded, or any Tom, Dick, or Jane, teacher, cop, or fireman can call the office for their free season ticket and 9 student passes?? What a poorly conceived and presented promotion. Richie.

  6. the canes org. is a joke...if you have not figured it out yet you must be new to town. after 21 years of season tickets they care more about new tickets than the ones that have supported them all along...bryan and the boys are the most hated people in the dub, so say good bye to the mem cup for that simple reason...he is a disaster to this town and this team............

  7. I have to agree with you Richie. It now says on the Hurricanes website that this package is $459 which is the same price a loyalty season ticket holder received, without the $144 bonus package! Someone has made a very poor business decision here and should be offering an explanation.

  8. The heroes are the fans who have supported this team for years of futility and mismanagement. The crap that goes on and I still renew my tickets, I hate false hope. It's things like this and holding playoff package money hostage so we have no choice as a consumer the next year. Maybe that's what they think about longtime season ticket holders. They always come back. Maybe the team structure is set up so that the "owners" really don't care about the fans or making a prifit. Could somebody on the board please give a S^%$ about the running of this organization. Also a big LOL to the tri-annual Hurricane bid for the memorial cup. This team can't run a proper concession stand. Really. Hope you get a nice expensive video presentation together. It would be nice to get it but when your best asset is "look at the purdy building" you don't have much. Try stressing the stability and world class managenent of the team to try to get the cup here. That should work.

  9. Mcnaughton preached stability and family values when he took power and the canes are the most unstable franchise in the dub! So when does this guy get held accountable for his poor leadership or quite simply the best move he can make is resign before more damage is done. Granted this is a Tough job but unfortunately he obviously bit off more than he can chew.
