The Lethbridge Hurricanes are back home after a very successful road trip to Saskatchewan last week.
The Hurricanes are sitting with a record of 5-4-0-3 on the season after grabbing five out of a possible six points away from home. The Canes' did it with a no quit attitude, a couple of power play goals, top notch penalty killing, and some excellent goaltending courtesy of Brandon Anderson. After 12 games, the Hurricanes sit in 5th place in the Eastern Conference with 13 points. The Canes' already have a quarter of the wins they recorded in total all of last season.
This is a pretty light week for the Hurricanes with just a couple of home games. The Vancouver Giants will be in town on Wednesday night and then on Saturday the struggling Brandon Wheat Kings who've dropped nine games in a row, will stop by at the ENMAX Centre as they end a long road trip out west. As Hurricanes Assistant Coach Chris Chisamore said on our CJOC post-game show on Saturday night, it's time for this Canes' team to establish some strong play on home ice. Just three of the Hurricanes 13 points this season have been earned at home. Chisamore noted that getting some wins at the ENMAX Centre is key to the success of this team going forward this season. Between now and the WHL's Christmas break, Lethbridge plays 22 games. 15 of those are at home, so no question getting some victories at home is very important for the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Next week things getting a lot busier for this team. They will open the November portion of their schedule with four games in five nights (two at home and two on the road).
Hurricanes This Week
After a one week hiatus, Hurricanes This Week returns to the airwaves tonight at 6:00 (MDT) on CJOC. The Hurricanes Media Roundtable will be back in the studio to dissect the first five weeks of the 2010/2011 WHL season for the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Joining myself and Fred Jack will be Dylan Purcell from the Lethbridge Herald and Marty Baceda from Global T.V. If you have a comment or question for the media panel, send it to: hurricanes@pttwireless.ca. If you miss the program, you can download it off the CJOC website the following day. You can also download the program using the CJOC iPhone app or from iTunes.
Thanks,
Pat

1. Can someone tell me what is going on with Tarnasky? Last season 57 games 3 points. (really) This year so far 7 games 0 points. (Seriously) I do not get it. Is he sick or not getting much ice time? Junior A might be a better spot to get his confidence up. This has to be frustrating for him, the players and the fans. He is probably a good kid. He looks misreable and nervous.
