The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club is proud to announce that for the entire
month of November the team will be raising awareness and funds for the Canadian
Cancer Society in what is being called “Canes Crush Cancer” Month.
With
three Hurricanes alumni being diagnosed with cancer over the last calendar year,
the Hurricanes have decided to help raise awareness of cancer’s that are common
in men. Former ‘Canes Dylan Tait, Ty Rimmer and the late Cody Smuk, who lost his
battle, were all diagnosed with testicular cancer.
During the Hurricanes
seven home games during the month of November, the team will be raising
awareness of some of the most common cancers in men: testicular, lung,
colorectal, liver, skin and prostate cancer. At every game, the Hurricanes will
be selling t-shirts for $25.00 with the “Canes Crush Cancer” logo in the colour
that represents the six cancers listed – all proceeds going to the Canadian
Cancer Society.
Schedule:
Friday, November 6th – Colorectal
Cancer
Saturday, November 7th – Lung Cancer
Wednesday, November 18th – Testicular
Cancer
Friday, November 20th – Liver Cancer
Saturday, November 21st – Skin
Cancer
Thursday, November 26th – Prostate Cancer
At the last home game of the
month on Friday, November 27th, the Hurricanes will wear a special “Canes Crush
Cancer” jersey. The jerseys will be available for purchase through a silent
auction, which will take place throughout the entire month on the concourse; all
the proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The Hurricanes
are also offering a special ticket promo during the month of November. For just
$30.00, you can purchase two tickets to any game in November (can be used at the
same game, or individually) and $5.00 from every $30.00 purchase will be donated
to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Of course all good things come to an end... And wouldn't you know that it would have to be against a team with one of the worst records in the league. Well, it was Awesome while it lasted! Only into the second, but I don't think we will see any rabbits out of the hat in this one at 6-2. Then again,.... you never know with this group!
ReplyDeleteHey coach. It was not your goalie's night from the beginning. Gotta pull him before goal #6, no??
Start another W-streak ... starting in Kelowna??
