Skinner Invited to Program of Excellence

Hockey Canada announced Monday that Lethbridge Hurricanes rookie standout goaltender, Stuart Skinner, is one of 34 netminders invited to attend the 10th annual Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp, June 12-14, at Canlan Ice Sports in Etobicoke, Ontario. 

Skinner is one of seven under-18 goalies invited to the camp that are candidates for Canada’s National Men’s Under-18 Team. The Edmonton, Alberta, product joins four other WHL goaltenders at the camp including Portland’s Adin Hill, Brandon’s Jordan Papirny, Moose Jaw’s Zach Sawchenko, and Everett’s Carter Hart. 

As a 16-year-old rookie, Skinner posted a record of 13-20-2-3 while collecting a .909 save percentage and a 3.69 goals against average with one shutout in 43 appearances in 2014-2015. He was also named the Hurricanes Rookie of the Year..
