Americans Beat Hurricanes 4-1

The Tri-City Americans scored four times as they beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-1 Friday night in Kennewick, Washington.

The Ams were all over the Canes in this game as it was an extremely busy night for goaltender Stuart Skinner as Tri-City out shot Lethbridge 41-15 overall.

The Americans opened the scoring late in the first period at the 16:53 mark when Ty Comrie scored to make it 1-0 for the home side after 20 minutes of play. In the second, the Ams jumped ahead 2-0 early when Lucas Nickles scored. Lethbridge got that one back in short order. Less than a minute later, Taylor Cooper scored the Canes lone goal of the game at the 2:30 mark to cut the lead to 2-1. Tri-City though managed to regain its two goal lead when Vladislav Lukin lit the red light to put the Ams ahead 3-1 after 40 minutes.

In the third, Tri-City kept it coming. Brian Williams scored at 9:45 to put the Americas up 4-1 and when it was all said and done, that is the way this game would end. The American went 0/4 on the power play and the Hurricanes finished the night 0/3.

The loss drops the Canes overall record 6-17-3-1 on the season. They have one victory in their last 11 games. The Hurricanes will play in Spokane Saturday (Nov. 29).

Thanks,
Pat
