Hurricanes Sign Prospect (D) Ethan King

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are pleased to announce prospect Ethan King has been signed to the Western Hockey League’s Standard Player Agreement.

The 1999 born defenceman from Vernon, BC was the Hurricanes 2nd round (23rd overall) draft pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. Standing 6’4 and 210 pounds, King is already a towering blue liner and in 55 games with the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy he registered 36 points, including 30 assists.

Hurricanes Head Scout, Blake Robson, calls him a “big physical defenseman that is hard to play against and he’s the kind of player you love to have on your team.” Hurricanes General Manager Brad Robson added “we’re excited to have him at training camp and see the progress he has made this past year.”

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are set to open their 2014 Training Camp presented by ENMAX on Thursday, August 21st continuing right through the weekend until Sunday, August 24th concluding with the Championship Game starting at 10:45am.

All on-ice sessions will be held at the ENMAX Centre and they are free and open to the public. The full schedule will be released in the coming days.

  2. He better know how to get the puck deep and then stand on the blue line watching all the forwards getting dizzy cycling. This will be one boring hockey team. We've been there and done that. Now the old tried and true failed program is being recycled(no pun intended).

    1. Anon. 17:03 Ethan King is not eligible to play in the W.H.L. until the 2015/2016 season .By then maybe you could be the coach , have the team play exiting hockey , and have them play your system whatever that would be and bring home the MEMORIAL CUP for us . HURRAY !!!!!!!!

  3. Nope. I'm not in the inner circle elite of those that think they know what they are doing. If you think cycle hockey is exciting you really haven't watched real hockey. Without talent you shoot it in and cycle. Speaking of talent you can thank the current GM forthe lack of. He as you are well aware he has been the head scout for the last fivenyears. Expect the same from his son who, golly gee whiz, is now thenhead scout. Who would have seen that coming. Nepotism appears to be alive and well with the Hurricanes. I'll save my 500 and watchnthe AJHL. Mutch better hockey without the over rated midgets. P.S. By he time King is eligible he may have taken up ping pong or the piano or be concussed into oblivion. To sign a 14 year oldn7s hardly news worthy. Reality bites

    1. Good for you ! Enjoy the AJHL or BEER LEAQUE hockey whichever you prefer. You can save some money and won't be exposed this terrible hockey . If you find it so repulsive why watch it and comment on it? You have a choice.
