Canes Get Goalie Myles From Kamloops

The Lethbridge Hurricanes acquired 1995-born goalie Justin Myles from Kamloops in exchange for a conditional 4th round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

At 6’2 and 164 pounds, the native of Calgary started his WHL career with the Seattle Thunderbirds after they drafted him in the 5th round (92nd overall) in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft. Myles played eight games with Seattle in the 2012-2013 season and in 21 games this year he posted an 11-6 record with a 3.66 GAA and .889 save percentage.

Myles was traded to the Kamloops Blazers with Austin Douglas when Seattle acquired Taran Kozun at the January 10th trade deadline.

Acquiring Myles gives the Hurricanes another veteran presence and depth at the goaltending position.

  1. Looks like a good move. But after checking Hockey DB for his stats with Kamloops......nada. No games, no wins, etc. Wonder why? He was injured (according to Pat's Tweet). The injury whatever it may have been kept him out of action from the trading deadline to the end of the season. I guess that is why only a "conditional" 4th round pick for him. Certainly better than a 1st rounder for Boes. Second time though the Canes have traded for or brought in an injured goaltender. Sacher!

Kolten trade did make sense. Little hustler, but too small to win those one on one battles in the corners and in front of the net.

After Pat posted the story of the new lease (possibilities) with the city, it appears that some of the city councillors are not happy with the deal and therefore the new lease has been put on the back burner for two weeks.

Quite frankly, I think the only reason the new lease package got to city council was the fact that WHL commissioner Ron Robison stated that the Hurricane franchise would not be leaving this city.

    Cheap Shot-water bottle.

    1. Robison did NOT state that the Hurricane franchise will not be leaving the city. He stated that Junior hockey will always be in Lethbridge. Two completely different statements.
