Hurricanes Hold Mid-Season Shareholders Mtg.

The Hurricanes Board of Directors will be holding their Shareholders Mid-Season Information Meeting on Thursday February 6th, 2014 at 7:00pm in the ENMAX Centre Lounge (upstairs of the ENMAX Centre, 2510 Scenic Drive South).

The purpose of this meeting is to give all Lethbridge Hurricanes Shareholders an overview of the Hockey Club at the mid-point of the season as well as to allow for a question and answer session. Shareholders can expect to hear from Board President Brian McNaughton as well as Business Manager, Terry Huisman.

The Hurricanes Board of Directors and the hockey club encourage all of the shareholders to attend and take part in this event.

The hockey club would also like to invite all members of the media to the mid-season information meeting of the Shareholders.

  3. This is a great opportunity for coach Drake to address all of us to show us what "systems" he is trying to teach. Once we see this, we may be able to see thing from a different point of view. Or not.

    1. this being an "information" meeting, McNaughton and Robson may be the only presenters. I doubt anyone will get a chance to put Drake on the stand, however, miracles do happen

  8. To the BOD, GM and Coaches: We understand that all of you feel like you know everything there is to know about anything when it comes to this hockey team because if even one of you could see the crack in your rose colored glasses there may have been an inkling of a "give-a-sh&%" attitude displayed. This would have likely resulted in one of you, ANY of you, accepting some responsibility and telling the fans, staff and most importantly the players exactly what you are willing to do to help remedy this situation. But there has been nothing.

We are a group of 7 season ticket holders and we would like to put these question out to you. Where is your pride and sense of doing the right thing? Are you all so bullheaded that your egos will not let you see what you (collectively) have done to this team? Is the nagging feeling in the pit of your stomach that says "I personally am not contributing to making this a better team and before it is too late I will step aside" not eating away at you or does your ego trumpet so loud and hard that it quells this sense of right in you?

We realize this board is not paid for their volunteer work but to the GM and coaches do you not cringe just a little when you cash each pay check from a financially destroyed team? Do you not hesitate for just a moment and wonder if you truly have earned and deserve this payment for your services when your services have proven to be so dreadfully inadequate?

Finally do you not look around the dressing room and take note of the fact that while it once was so convenient to blame the players for not adjusting from the former coach, for being lazy, or for not learning the "systems" that the majority of those players are no longer here? Has it occurred to you that those who now sit in that room are who you have brought in and were "untainted" by the former coach and therefore continuing to use these kids as a scapegoat isn't fooling anyone?

Maybe you would be willing to address some of these questions at the upcoming meeting as the fans of this team obviously don't get it. The issue of whether to sell the team and give up your personal hobby will not matter if this team completely collapses because people refused to do the right thing.

  9. Just wondering if anyone on here has EVER actually sat down and talked with any of the board members to ask what their thoughts are or how they feel about this situation? Or do you just come on here and bag on them?
