(F) Spencer Meyer Heading Home

The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced today that 17-year old Forward Spencer Meyer is returning home.

“It was a mutually agreed upon decision and he’ll be returning home to go to school” said General Manager Brad Robson.

The native of Surrey, BC was acquired just prior to the start of the season when the Hurricanes traded Craig Leverton to the Prince Albert Raiders. Meyer appeared in 26 games with the Hurricanes where he was a -4 plus/minus rating to go along with 35 PIM’s.

  1. Is this thing with players packing up and going home ever going to end this season?

  2. Does GM Robson and the BOG realize the repercussions of players leaving the team for future players they draft?????? (I don't think so). It can't continually be: "we want players who want to be here" because if the organization isn't careful, NO PLAYERS will want to be here!

  3. I think this young man did some self evaluation over the Christmas break with respect to his hockey career and where it was going. After this evaluation he made a decision to return to school. I applaud him for having the self confidence to preform this self evaluation. It is never a bad decision to return to school. Good Luck Spenser.
