The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced Tuesday that they have traded 18-year-old
Forward Craig Leverton to the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for 17-year-old
Left Winger Spencer Meyer.
Leverton, who is from Debden, Saskatchewan was
the Hurricanes 2nd round (25th overall) pick in the 2010 Bantam Draft. In 103
career WHL games with the Hurricanes he registered 29 points (12G, 17A) with 67
PIM’s.
Lethbridge Hurricanes General Manager Brad Robson calls Craig “a
dedicated worker, who has a positive attitude and works hard every shift. Craig
is also very community oriented and takes his role as a hockey player and member
of the community seriously. We thank Craig for all he’s done in his time with
the Hurricanes and we wish him success in his new role with the Raiders.”
Meyer, who is from Surrey, BC., played for the Grandview Steelers of the
PIJHL. In 28 games last season, he tallied 15 points and 25 PIM’s. The 17-year
old also played three games with the Raiders last season.
