The Lethbridge Hurricanes will have another logo change, their 4th in the past 7 years.
I spoke with the team's Business Manager, Terry Huisman about it on Thursday. He says, "This has not been labeled as a new look. We have been served notice from the NHL's Washington Capitals that they would like us to look at other directions with our logo. This was brought up to us during the season".
I asked Huisman if this new logo would be unveiled prior to the 2013-2014 season this fall, but he wasn't able to say: "We haven't set out a time frame. We have to meet as committees and have to go through due process and that hasn't been discussed yet at all. We haven't talked with them (Capitals) to see what's the time frame (for the change)".
I also asked if the Hurricane Hawker airplane logo unveiled as a third jersey logo this past season would be considered for a new permanent logo. "We will have to look at all options and all directions, that's for sure."
Thanks,
Pat
Here are the three logos the Canes have used as their main jersey logo since the 2007-2008 WHL season:
