The Lethbridge Hurricanes are pleased to announce the hiring of David Harris as the club’s new Vice-President of Business Operations.
Harris comes to the hockey club with over 15 years of experience working in many different areas including sales and marketing, program development, project management and communications.
“I am extremely excited about joining a premier organization as the Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club” stated Harris. “The Board of Directors have a vision for the success of this franchise moving forward and I am proud to be part of it. I’m looking forward to working with the business community within Lethbridge and meeting the great fans of the Hurricanes.”
Harris has a good understanding of the hockey fan and the game day experience. He has spent over 10 years as Director of Operations and Marketing in the Ontario Hockey League with both the Mississauga Ice Dogs and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Most recently Harris was with The Messier Project – Cascade Sports where he was responsible for all new business development, key national accounts and the National Hockey League.
Board Vice-President Brian Wichers commented “we went through the hiring process from the standpoint that it would be great to find someone that has the experience in junior hockey. Dave Harris had success as a Business Manager in the OHL where he’s taken a brand new hockey team and started from scratch. He understands what it takes to build a good business and marketing plan and fill the arena with fans. He comes with a wealth of knowledge which is what the Hurricanes need right now in our business department; he’s going to be a great addition.”
