Merkley & Topping Short-listed for Team Alberta

Lethbridge Hurricanes draft picks Jay Merkley and Joel Topping are two of the top 35 under 16 male hockey players, short-listed for evaluation to represent Team Alberta at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.

80 players were looked at in July at a provincial development camp held in Camrose. Those 30 players, including Merkley and Topping will be scouted with the club teams until the final 20 player roster is chosen.

The Canada Winter Games will be held in Halifax next February.
