Canes' Have New Look!

The Lethbridge Hurricanes unveiled their new look at Adams Ice Centre today. The Reebok Edge Jersey is what every team in the CHL will wear from now on. The jerseys are said to be lighter in weight and cooler and drier for the players to wear. As you can tell, The Canes' have dropped the swirl in the logo and just used the Lethbridge Hurricanes lettering style from the previous design and incoporated it as their new logo. On the sleeves are red, white, and blue stars. Hurricanes Communications Director Ryan Ohashi told me he thinks the fans will really like the Canes' new look. He says the team has wanted to revamp the logo for a while, but it's not something that just happens over night. Ohashi says the new look is clean and streamlined.

Cam Braes and Max Ross modelled the new duds for the media at Adams Ice Centre.

As Hurricanes fans know, this is the 3rd logo change for the team since about 1997. Before the swirl was logo was the Tasmanian Devil logo back in the late 90's. What do you think?

Thanks,
Pat

  1. Not bad... but the crest looks too small!

  2. I'm not sold on the crest, but I was never really won over by the previous crest either. The stars on the shoulders are definitely a nice touch.

  3. It looks really nice,... especially if you want to be the Tri-City Americans. First, our former GM gives away our best players to them (Yellowhorn, Fadden), now we want to look like them too. Extremely dissapointed with the lack of imagination. We have a 100 year old damn bridge that makes LA famous, and we pick stars from the US flag for our jerseys!-Richie

  4. The crest leaves the jersey looking incomplete, it's to small and seems to be to high up on the sweater. Not really wowed.

  5. Yellowhorn Was a menice and fadden asked to be traded. We don't need players that don't want to be here. With Yellowhorn gone we got to see more of the Zach attack!
The jersys look sweet, love the stars!

  6. The stars are there as a kick-back to the Hurricanes original jerseys that featured a red and a blue star on each sleeve. I doubt it had anything at all to do with making the Hurricanes into Tri-Cities 'wannabes'.

  7. The jersey could use a "character or symbol" in order to add to it.
The stars are a carryover from the original.Has nothing to do with the TC Americans.

Bye the way. This is the 4th change. The original with the hockey stick, the second with TAZ, the third with Hurricanes and the puck swirl, and now the 4th with just the name.
