Canes' AGM Set for Wednesday

Well , what's being billed as the biggest meeting in the history of the Lethbridge Hurricanes goes Wednesday night.

The team's Annual General Meeting is expected to draw a large number of shareholders given what's been a very interesting and much talked about off-season for the hockey club. On Monday I had a chance to speak with Board President Bryan McNaughton to get his feelings on the meeting. Here's the transcript of our chat:

Pat: A lot of people that I've talk to lately feel this AGM may be the most important meeting this team has ever and will ever have. Do you agree?

Bryan: "Absolutely! I think it's important because there has been a fair amount of talk this summer over the hockey team and the board. So I think it's very important that people come out and hear the board's position. The board has not presented it's position all summer. It's our responsibility to present our position at the Annual General Meeting and that's what we're prepared to do. So it's really important people come out and hear the board's position and make their decisions based on that."

Pat: How important are these decisions in your mind?

Bryan: " The shareholders need to make decisions based on substantiated information and on Wednesday night the board will present information that is substantiated and we have the documentation to back that up, so when I say you come and hear the board's position, it will be dramatically different than the rumour mill."

Pat: What message do you have to those shareholders planning to attend?

Bryan: We hope that people come with an open mind. That's the most important thing to us as a board, is that people come to the AGM with an open mind and hear the information and make an informed decision."

The meeting is set for 7pm at the Ramada Hotel in Lethbridge Wednesday evening. Only Hurricanes shareholders are allowed the attend.

Thanks,
Pat
