Reno Work Starts at the Enmax Centre

Well, after weeks of waiting, work has finally started on the Enmax Centre.

Before I left on vacation last week, equipment began moving in and breaking away pieces of the building to get it ready for demolition work. This of course is the start of what should be a two year renovation project at a cost of 33.7 million dollars. As I reported on here a few weeks ago, because of safety and fire code regulations, one thousand seats will be lost during the construction phase for both hockey games and concerts so seating over the next two seasons will be at a premium. The Canes' will be starting on the road for the first three weeks of the season. I expect the official 2009/2010 Hurricanes schedule will be released very soon as a few dates were being finalized with a couple of other teams the last time I inquired about the schedule. I will post it up on here once I get the official word from the Canes' office.

There was a story about the start of the Enmax Centre renovation in the Lethbridge Herald this week. If you haven't read it yet, here's the link:

Have a great day!
