Canes' Hire Business Operations Manager

Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes are proud to announce the hiring of Lethbridge local Geoff Stewart as the club's Business Operations Manager. Governor and Interim General Manager Herman Elfring made the announcement late this afternoon; Stewart takes on his new position effective immediately.

"This is an important move for us to make and something that the Board of Directors has been working towards for the past few months. It comes now at a critical time in our restructuring as we feel the Business Manager position will allow whomever fills the vacant General Manager role to focus primarily on the hockey operations of the team." said Elfring "The business side of hockey is too often overlooked and we hope that Geoff can use his experience and skill to excel at this position."

Stewart, an alumnus of Mt. Royal College and Lethbridge College has worked in sales and marketing for the past 10 years.

"I am very excited about joining the Lethbridge Hurricanes" said Stewart "I look forward to using my expertise and local contacts in working towards the goal of our organization to be as successful in the business community as we hope to be on the ice."

Stewart has been married to his wife Karly for 12 years and has two children Brendan and Brooke.

  1. Hope they talked to the players that could be real important. Afterall the team shut down last season due to the GM/coach.
