Game Day vs. Wheaties

It's been a busy week here at CJOC..... news and sports-wise, but time for me to take off my News Director's hat and put on the Play-by-Play hat as the Hurricanes get back at it this weekend with two home games. Tonight the Canes' will take on the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings. It'll be our first look at Kelly McCrimmon's crew this season. The Wheaties bring a 14-9-1-1 record into this game with the Hurricanes, while Lethbridge will try and get back above the .500 mark with a win (12-12-0-1). Lethbridge has been playing better as of late. They've won 3 of their past 4 games with wins over Edmonton, Prince Albert, and Red Deer. The loss was last Friday against Medicine Hat.

Tonight's game versus Brandon will also be the first meeting between these two teams since the Canes' knocked the Wheaties out of the first round of the playoffs last season.

We'll also see how much juice Zach Boychuk and Colton Sceviour have. They've been playing the last two nights against the Russians at the ADT Canada/Russia challenge. Congrats to those two players for making the team!

Lethbridge has 11 games remaining before the WHL Christmas break. 6 of those games are at home while 5 are on the road.

On Sunday, the Hurricanes will host the struggling Moose Jaw Warriors. Again, the Canes' have a great opportunity before the break to make up some ground here in the Eastern Conference. If they can go on a run over the next 3 weeks, it'll makes things pretty interesting for sure. It's also important to get a few wins against teams the Canes' are chasing. That's where the real ground is made up in the standings.

The pre-game show tonight on CJOC AT 6:30. The pucks drops from the Enmax Centre at 7pm.
