The Lethbridge Hurricanes have selected a goaltender with their first pick in Round 4 of the draft.
The Canes took (G) Shane Farkas from Penticton, BC (57th overall).
With their 4th selection in the draft GM Brad Robson said last week he had been talking to teams
about a possible trade concerning one of those picks, but noted if
there was nothing there he would make all three selections.
With the final pick in the second round, the Canes picked forward Zane
Franklin (43rd overall) from Marwayne, Alberta. Franklin has been
playing in Lloydminster.
The Hurricanes second pick in round two and the team's third
selection of the draft they chose defenceman Nick Watson from Delta, BC.
He's 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. Watson plays with the Burnaby Winter
Club.
With the Lethbridge Hurricanes first pick in the second round (23rd
overall) the hockey club selected defenceman Ethan King from Vernon, BC.
King is 6 foot 4, 210 pounds.
With the second overall selection in the 2014 Western Hockey League
Draft, the Lethbridge Hurricanes picked forward Jordy Bellerive from
North Vancouver, BC. Bellerive had 114 points in 49 games with the North Shore Winter Club.
He now becomes the highest-ever pick in Lethbridge Hurricanes history.
