A sold out field of 144 golfers teed off at Paradise Canyon July 5th will a huge contingent of alumni on hand. The tournament used to be known as the Hurricanes/Broncos Alumni Tournament, but it was rebranded this year with a new logo and name. Even the holes has classy flags with the Hurricanes new logo.
The feature event took place at the end of the day when 5 people had a chance to shoot for the $600,000 Hole-in-One competition on Hole 9. Back at the Hurricanes Celebrity Dinner and Auction five lucky bidders won the right to shoot for the $600,000 Hole-in-One prize.
If no one was able to get the Hole-in-One, the contest would revert to a closest to the pin and the winner would take home $5092. The winner of that was Dana McKechnie, the father of Hurricanes forward Sam McKechnie.
The Hole-in-One Competition was co-sponsored by Vice President, Investment Advisor Nick Polychronopoulos and Investment Advisor Tom Ackerman of CIBC Wood Gundy.
