The Lethbridge Hurricanes host the Seattle Thunderbirds tonight at the ENMAX Centre.
Both teams are struggling right now and sit and the bottom of the their respective conferences. The Hurricanes are 3-15-0-1 in East and the T-birds are 5-10 in the West. Seattle has played the least amount of game in the Western Hockey League to date. The Thunderbirds are coming off a 6-3 loss in Medicine Hat last night.
The Hurricanes have one victory in their past 16 games, but will get one of the top defencemen back tonight. Daniel Johnston has missed more than two weeks with injury. He'll add a lot to what has been a thin blueline for this team in recent games. Tonight's game also marks the return of Cason Machacek to Lethbridge. The Canes dealt him to Seattle in the off-season for a draft pick. For Lethbridge, Brady Ramsey is on a three game point streak heading into this game (3G, 1A) while Nick Buonassisi and Sam McKechnie each have three assists in the Canes last 5 games.
The Hurricanes are paying respect to the Canadian Forces this evening with Military Appreciation night. The players will wear army-themed jerseys with the usual stars on the jersey being replaced by the Maple Leaf. The jerseys are up for auction at http://www.hurricanesauction.com/ until 5pm November 14th. All the proceeds go the Legion's poppy fund and the local military museum.
Game time tonight is 7:00 pm (MST). The pre-game show on CJOC at 6:30.
Thanks,
Pat
