Hurricanes at Kootenay ICE Tonight

The Hurricanes take on the Kootenay ICE tonight from the Rec Plex in Cranbrook.

This will be this first of six meetings between these two Central Division teams. The Canes are coming off a win in Medicine Hat, while the ICE downed Calgary in their last game. Kootenay has lost some big guns from the team that won the WHL Championship last season. Gone are players like Cody Eakin, Brayden McNabb, Kevin King, and Steele Boomer. The ICE do though still have one of the top goalies in the league, that being Nathan Lieuwen. He was a huge reason for Kootenay's playoff success in 2010-2011.

The Canes are looking to start this season 2-0, which would match the Hurricanes start last year as well. Lethbridge will return home to play at the newly-renovated ENMAX Centre this weekend when they take on Calgary Friday and Regina Saturday. Prior to the Regina game, there'll be a tailgate party. From 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm October 1st, all Hurricanes fans are invited to a special family event out in front of the ENMAX Centre. It includes a BBQ, face painting, music and more.

Game time is 7:00 pm (MDT). The pre-game show on CJOC at 6:30.

Thanks,
Pat

  2. Anyone know whats up with the WHL website? Only one game for them to manage tonight, its 2-0 already, yet no lineups or any info whatsoever on the WHL gamesheet for the game. Is this the "New and improved" somethingorother? - Richie.

  4. LOVE the player interviews, Pat! Great questions and idea! Fun! Thanks!

A question for your future consideration, especially for new Canes:

Q: (Being that you are quite a sniper) What is the most unusual way that you have celebrated a goal that you have scored, and can Cane fans expect a similar or even more unusual celebration when you score at the Enmax centre?
