Hurricanes This Week Monday

A tough weekend for the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Canes' dropped both home games, losing 9-3 to Prince Albert Friday and a 5-3 defeat the following night courtesy of the Saskatoon Blades. The Canes' didn't play all that bad against Saskatoon I thought. They got off to a really solid start in that game. Lethbridge had both those games slip away in the third period and will be looking to stop a four game slide this week with three games in four nights. The Canes' will host Red Deer on Wednesday and then on the weekend, they'll take on Swift Current in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday.

The Canes' did lose some ground in the Eastern Conference standings on the weekend, dropping from 4th place down to 6th. The teams that managed to gain points on Lethbridge were Moose Jaw and Medicine Hat. A few of the teams the Hurricanes are trying to keep pace with, like Swift Current and Brandon also lost a couple of games on the weekend. The Canes' record now sits at one game above the .500 mark at 10-9-1-3 after 23 games played.

Hurricanes This Week

Our weekly Hurricanes talk show is back on the air on CJOC Monday night at 6:00 (MST). Fred and I will be joined by Hurricanes goaltender Brandon Anderson. Also on the program, Hurricanes Business Manager Jim Bradley and then in the final segment of the show we'll head to Red Deer and speak with the radio voice of the Rebels Cam Moon to set up Wednesday's game at the ENMAX Centre between Red Deer and Lethbridge.

Thanks,
Pat
