REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN - The Lethbridge Hurricanes will be looking for a little revenge tonight when they take on the Pats at the Brandt Centre in Regina.
Regina came into Lethbridge last Friday and walked away with a 3-2 shootout victory. In that game, the Pats were a desperate team looking for a win and it showed. They played well and came from behind not once, but twice to win it. The Hurricanes will need to ramp up their energy level on this road trip too. They will need contributions from everyone. We are starting to see some good things I think from a few of the young players over the past few games. Brady Ramsey, Michael Sofillas, and Alex Kuvaev have stepped up their games as of late and they have all been rewarded with more ice time too. I really like they way Phil Tot has progressed. He is starting to find his stride as well and it's pretty clear with the more ice time Tot gets, the better he gets.
So what will happen on this Saskatchewan swing over the next four nights? The hope is that the Hurricanes can get back into the win column, play three solid road games, and get their power play going. The hockey club practiced here in Regina yesterday and went out and did a little team building later on in the afternoon. They'll have a pre-game skate at the Brandt Centre this morning in preparation for tonight's game.
The Hurricanes go into this week with a 3-4-0-2 record through nine games on the season and the interesting thing is that because a few other teams have been playing win one lose one hockey, the Canes' are right in the mix with four or five other clubs. Now, I do expect to see some separation starting over the next couple of weeks, but if the Hurricanes can get a few wins that would help them jump a few spots up. These are important games too, because they're within the conference. The points will be key, especially against Regina and Prince Albert.
Game time tonight from the Queen City is 7:00pm (MDT). The pre-game show on CJOC at 6:30.
Thanks,
Pat

Didn't catch the game until 2min left in OT. I Saw the stat sheet and heard shoot-out.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to Preston/Oslanski for getting the D involved in PP. Other than Ryckman's one and only WHL goal a while ago, our defensemen have looked glued to the boards and blueline at times... mostly on the PP. They HAVE to get involved in the PP!!!
CONGRATS to Anderson for getting through a shoot-out... Its been a bit of a thorn for him lately. Stopping Weal, and Ashton, WELL DONE!!
CONGRATS to PRESTON for giving the shootout call to Hood (former R-Pat beat his former team, NICE!) and Moser rather than Braes and Maxwell after their "no-shot" efforts in the last shoot-out.
Speed and shot-on-goal gets the goal most times. lets see Sofillas, Tot, Berglund, and Kuvaev next time!!
Nice post-game interview with Chisamore (sp?), Pat.
Good luck in Toontown. Looking forward to listening. - Richie.
