Hurricanes Goaltender Brandon Anderson has signed an entry level NHL deal with the Washington Capitals.
Anderson had a great pro camp with the Caps and arrived back in Lethbridge a couple of days ago. This is a pretty big deal for Anderson, given the fact he signed with Washington after attending their camp as a free agent. Anderson finished his rookie WHL season last year with Lethbridge with a record of 12-19-1-1, a .892 save percentage, and a 3.49 Goals Against Average.
Anderson is expected to play in the Hurricanes season opener Friday night in Calgary.
I have to tip my hat to this kid. He was literally two days away from being send to play Junior "A" in B.C. last season with opportunity knocked. Linden Rowat went down with a serious injury and the door opened for Anderson. It was his big break and he made the best of it. Now look at where he's at! Congrats Andy!
Thanks,
Pat
