  1. Huge step backward, again. Hate this move, and really losing a lot of faith in Anholt.

First, he starts the season by trading away all our size & toughness in his early season moves of Folk, Sheen, & Skeoch for loose change, Zaharichuk, and Menell.

Then, he sends the player HE traded for, our point-per-game and leading team goal scorer at the time (Zaharichuk), to Drumheller / AJHL, essentially throwing away an asset!?

Anholt, are these really the best decisions you are capable of making? WTF?!

    1. Although I agree with most of your comment, it helps credibility if you attach your name to the comment. The move that for me was the biggest set back was moving Skeoch, that hurt us almost the most. On the flip side Kord hasn't been playing super I'm my mind and I don't know this new guy so will have to wait and see before I can pass Judgement.

      Go Canes Go!!!!

  2. Skeoch was the only trade of those 3 that I do not like. Kord was never a great d-man and was actually playing forward the last little while. I was fairly upset when Burke got traded and Zaharichuk sent home, until the stories about the 2 of them started coming out. The team is playing good hockey and has won 4 in a row so for now Anholt looks like he is doing what the team needs. Hopefully Dosanjh can fill a spot on defense and fit in well with the team. Looking forward to tonights game. LETS GO CANES

  3. I think the thing everyone needs to keep in mind, particularly with these last few moves, is that sometimes $#!& happens and it isn't made public. Anholt is not out to drown this team. He is making moves on what is best for the Hurricanes and the players involved. Certainly if you've heard some of the stories you will realise that often it is in the best interest of the player to be moved where he can get a fresh start and be separated from the behaviours that were exhibited while he was with his former team. This club has also brought in players who had issues while with their former clubs and they've turned into fan favorites here.

I don't know a darn thing about this new guy either but let's hope he brings a little grit to the blueline. Can't really judge him until we have seen what he can do on the ice.

  4. Anholt made these moves for a reason... yes, they initially seem strange to everyone BUT some of us know why he had to make them... here's a hint... Anholt could have easily released these players, but was classy and moved them to teams/situations that work for each player... note that one of these players didn't go with the team on its last US trip and was then traded to a team that had just returned home from playing all 5 of its US games for the next two seasons...
