Nielsen Signs With NHL's Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that the club has signed 2015 draft picks Andrew Nielsen and Dmytro Timashov to entry level contracts.

Nielsen, 19, was drafted by the Maple Leafs in the third round (65th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. The Red Deer, Alberta native has collected 24 points (seven goals, 17 assists) in 23 regular season games with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League (WHL) this season. Nielsen is fourth in team scoring and tied for second among all WHL defencemen.
