  1. What gives with this deal? 4th round pick in 2018? Jensen looked pretty solid as a young d-man. Is there more to this that meets the eye? Just asking.

  2. They got lots of depth on d. They want to give their younger guys more opportunities and also I gives a spot on the back for a 20 year old.

  3. Thanks Anon. Still thought he looked pretty steady. They do have a lot of good young talent on the back end.

  4. I thought Kade had a good year and came to play every night regardless of the turmoil around him. Met his parents, nice solid people. I thought we should/could have gotten more. Trade return seems a little thin for a number 4 or 5 d man. Good luck in Swift.

  5. Anon 22:02. My thoughts exactly and I too have met his parents and talked with his dad more than once. What baffled me about the trade (hence the question) was not only the round of the pick but the fact it is 3 years from now.

  6. Trading an 18 year old d-man with 2 years of junior eligibility left???? This move might be the most puzzling of all. This 2018 pick won't have an impact until 2020 if at all

I'm a former Lethbridge resident now living in Calgary & I've still kept tabs on yhe Canes. What has taken place the last 5 years has been disappointing. Moves like this make me wonder if the current GM will be an improvement. Surely someone would have offered at least a 2016 pick.
