The Lethbridge Hurricanes will have the second overall selection in this
year's Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
The Spokane Chiefs won the WHL's Draft Lottery Wednesday in Calgary. They acquired
that first round pick from Saskatoon in a trade during the 2013 season.
This will be the second year in a row the Hurricanes will select second
overall. They chose Jordy Bellerive with the second overall pick in 2014.
The draft order will be: Spokane, Lethbridge, Vancouver, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, and Moose Jaw to round out the top six picks.
The 2015 WHL Draft takes place in Calgary May 7th.
Thanks,
Pat
Moose Jaw is in almost the exact same position the Canes were in the 2011 draft. We had the 3rd and 5th picks, and the Jaw has the 4th and 6th picks. I hope to h@ll it works out better for the Warriors than it did for the Canes. We took Pilon and Duke with our 3rd and 5th picks. I will go out on a limb and say there is no friggin way it can turn out any worse for the Jaw than it did for Lethbridge.

The Hurricanes wrote their own script for how the 2011 draft turned out. They hired a GM with no experience who then hired a coach with very little experience as head coach (one year) and zero experience in the WHL. Those two moves not only crippled the development of Duke and Pilon, but of ALL the Canes players. Will Moose Jaw make those same mistakes? I doubt it. Those moves are reserved for idiots like Brian McNaughton and Brian Wichers.
