Hurricanes Set For Start of Regular Season

The Lethbridge Hurricanes kick off the 2014-2015 WHL season Friday night (Sept. 19) at home as they host the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers.

I had a chance to sit down with GM Brad Robson Monday to discuss the upcoming season. The club is going into the season a little banged up with some injuries, so there likely won't be any more roster cuts until players return from injury.

  1. OPTIMISM....SETTING THE OVER/UNDER FOR CANE WINS AT 17 THIS YEAR? WHAT DO YOU THINK??

  2. Might be right. The younger players have improved year over year, but the issue remains that there are no super stars. The Russians look okay at camp against 14 and 15 year, but went unrecognized during exhibition games. Surprising picks since we had early draft pick in the Euro league. Again another failure of our scouting staff not doing their homework then passing the buck to the coaching staff.

  3. Have you an update of the status of the injuries?

  4. All GM Robson says is it can be anywhere from a week to 4 weeks for those those 5 players.

  5. Easy on critiquing the Russians. New league, new country, new language. Its a total lifestyle change, give them a break.
