Seven Hurricanes Prospects at Mac's

The future of the Lethbridge Hurricanes is on display as six of their prospects are suiting up at the prestigious Mac’s Tournament in Calgary. The tournament opened December 26 and it runs through January 1st, 2014. Lethbridge is tied with Kamloops and Prince Albert with having seven players in competition, while the Red Deer Rebels lead the way with 11.


Lethbridge Prospects at the Mac’s:

 

98-Born Players:

  • G – Stuart Skinner, 2013 1st round Bantam pick (Edm. SSAC)
  • F – Tak Anholt, 2013 2nd round Bantam pick (Van. NW Giants)

97-Born Players:

  • G – Eric Szudor, 2012 6th round Bantam pick (Edm. CAC)
  • D – Tanner Browne (acquired in Ryan Pilon trade, Brandon’s 2012 2ndround Bantam pick) (Okanagan Rockets)
  • F – Kody White, 2012 11th round Bantam pick (Prince Albert Mintos)
  • F – Cole Davis, Listed player (Calgary Flames)

96-Born Players:

  • D – Andrew Nielsen, Listed player (Red Deer Optimist Chiefs)  

Last year, 11 of the Hurricanes prospects were invited to the Mac’s Tournament – 5 who are currently on the Hurricanes roster – Giorgio Estephan, Carter Amson, Kolten Olynek, Bryton Sayers and Reid Nemeth.

 

Meanwhile, the 3rd Annual World Sports School Challenge (WSSC) starts tomorrow,December 27th and also runs through until January 1st. The WSSC brings together the best hockey schools & academies for an intense one week competition. It’s a collaborative tournament between the Edge School for Athletes & the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL).

 

Lethbridge Hurricanes 2012, 6th round Bantam pick, D – Brandon Kennedy will be competing in that tournament.
