Hurricanes Sign Two Defencemen

The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced a pair of signings following their 2013 Training Camp.

The Hurricanes signed 2012, 5th round (103rd overall) pick, Defenceman Kade Jensen as well as 6th round pick (113thoverall) Brandon Kennedy to the WHL’s Standard Player Agreements.

Kennedy, who is from Delta, BC is 6’0 and 185 pounds, played with the Delta Wild (Hockey Academy) last season where he registered 10 points (3G, 7A) in 36 games. He had a plus-16 plus/minus rating and added 20 PIM’s.

Lethbridge Hurricanes General Manager, Brad Robson has been impressed with the development of Kennedy since the draft. “School has helped him raise his game. He has to be the most improved player on our protected list and you can see it from his commitment and dedication.”

Kade Jensen played with the Edge AA and AA Prep teams last season and tallied 62 points (22G, 40A) in a combined 79 games.Hurricanes Head Scout Blake Robson describes Jensen as being a consistent player with a lot of upside.  “He’s a smooth skating defenceman who’s got good size and he makes a good first pass.”
