Central Scouting Service (CSS) released Monday, September 23rd, the Preliminary
“2014 North American Ones to Watch list,” and among them is Reid Duke.
Centreman Reid Duke was listed as a WHL “C Skater.” Standing at
6’0” and 188 lbs, the 17-year-old is entering his second full season with the
team. In 57 games with the Hurricanes last year he tallied 24 points (8G, 16A)
and 30 PIMs.
Chase Phelps was also listed as U.S High School
West “C Skater.” The Left-winger, playing at Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep in
Minnesota last season, had 60 points in 56 games with the team (23G, 37A).
Phelps, a listed Hurricanes player, played for team U.S.A at the U-18 Ivan
Hlinka Memorial tournament in August, where the team claimed the Silver
medal.
Players on the CSS list are ranked on an “A” to “C”
hierarchy in terms of the three rounds in the NHL draft. The players compromised
on the list are determined by Central Scouting at having a chance to hear their
name called out at some point during the two-day 2014 NHL draft, which will be
held at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA June 27-28.

Congrats to both. Not sure how Tyson Baillie didn’t make the list, I don’t know if he will make it out the first round. Long Run
ReplyDeleteBoth kids deserve it! I was really impressed with Phelps while he was here and Duke throughout the exhibition games.
