Ryan Pilon Makes U-18 Team Canada

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are proud to announce that Defenceman Ryan Pilon has been selected for Team Canada’s U-18 team Ivan Hlinka Team. 

The 6’2, 207 pound blueliner from Duck Lake, Saskatchewan had 5 goals and 23 assists in his rookie season with the team. He added 63 penalty minutes and was Even plus/minus rating in the 57 games he played.

Hockey Canada made the announcement of the 22 player roster Monday afternoon.
Pilon, who played on Team White for the three intrasquad games played, was able to chip in with an assist over the course of the games played during camp.

The announcement comes after a four day Team Selection Camp from July 25- 29 at the MasterCard Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Team Canada will hold another practice Tuesday before everything wraps up.

The 42-player camp roster included another ‘Canes player, Centreman Reid Duke who had a positive tryout garnering two assists with Team White in the three intrasquad games to finish out the tryout despite not making the team. 

Canada’s Under-18 team will be gunning for its sixth consecutive Gold medal at the Memorial for Ivan Hlinka tournament.  The tournament begins on August 5th in Breclav, CZE, and Piestany, SVK.
