Hurricanes Trim Roster

The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced Monday that they have trimmed their roster by reassigning 16 year old Forward Carter Amson and 16 year old Defenceman Bryton Sayers to their respective clubs (Saskatoon and Prince Albert) in the Saskatchewan Midget Triple A Hockey League.

Amson was the Hurricanes 2nd round (29th overall) Bantam pick in 2011 and played in all three of the Hurricanes preseason games to date. Sayers was also a 2nd round (48th overall) Bantam pick in 2011 and he also played in three preseason games. In his last game against Medicine Hat on Sunday, Sayers was a minus-1 +/- rating and he had 2 PIM’s. With today’s transactions, the Hurricanes preseason roster is now down to 26 with 3 goaltenders, 8 defencemen and 15 forwards.

Following weekend action, the Hurricanes pre-season record is 1-2 and their next “home”exhibition game is Wednesday, September 12th when they host the Medicine Hat Tigers. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through the Lethbridge Minor Hockey Association office with proceeds going to support Minor Hockey. The Canes will close out their preseason this weekend at the “Thunder Challenge” in the Crowsnest Pass. Lethbridge will play the Kootenay Ice on Friday, September 14th and Calgary on Saturday, September 15th.
