Kizuik & Oslanski Moving On

The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced that 20-year old’s Landon Oslanski and Tyler Kizuik have moved on from the team.

The hockey club placed the 20-year old Oslanski on waivers earlier this week and on Thursday, the native of Camrose, AB was picked up by the Everett Silvertips. Oslanski was drafted by the Spokane Chiefs in the third round (56th overall) in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft, but he played only one game with the Chiefs before being dealt to Lethbridge in the Kyle Beach trade. In 71 games last season with the Canes, he registered 32 points (6G, 26A) and had 94 PIM’s.

Kizuik joined the Hurricanes early in the 2010-2011 season in a trade with the Saskatoon Blades. Kizuik’s WHL career saw him make stops in Prince George and Saskatoon before settling with the Hurricanes. In 58 games with Lethbridge last season, the Indian Head, SK native tallied 4 goals, had a minus-24 plus/minus rating and 43 PIM’s. As one of a number of 20-year old’s on the team, Kizuik has decided to pursue his post-secondary education at the University of Lethbridge.

We wish both Landon and Tyler the best of luck as they move on in their hockey careers and we thank them for their hard work and dedication to the Hurricanes both on and off the ice.

  1. Is this the same Oslanski that spoken so highly of at the end of last season?? The same Oslanski whose name was in the mix for future captain??

How do you NOT get an asset in trade for a player of Landon Oslanski's quality ?? Could our team possibly be any worse at managing its assets ?? I am getting sick and tired of hearing this familiar tune!! Why is it that the Hurricanes never seem to be able to pick up any players of Oslanski's qualities off of waivers, but only to lose them ??
