Hurricanes Visit Swift Current Tonight

The Hurricanes play their first game of a 3 game road trip tonight in Swift Current.

This will be the final meeting of the season between the two teams, with the Broncos holding a 2-1 edge in the season series. Lethbridge has called up defenceman Ryan Pilon to play tonight in Swift Current. This will be Pilon's second game with the Hurricanes this year. The 6 foot 2, 195 pound Pilon was selected 3rd overall by the Hurricanes in the 2011 WHL Bantam draft.

The Canes are coming off back-to-back home ice losses where they gave up a total of 14 goals in those two games. The team will look to tighten up a lot defensively with these games in Swift Current, Brandon, and Regina in the next few days.

Lethbridge is closing in on Swift Current in the Eastern Conference standings, trailing the Broncos by 4 points, although both teams are well out of that final playoff position. The Hurricanes have been playing better on the road lately and have won two of their last three games away from the ENMAX Centre.

Game time tonight from Swift Current is 6:00 (MST). The pre-game show on CJOC at 5:30.

Thanks,
Pat

  2. I don't think Preston can wait until fall to see if Sofilas is the sniper he is looking for next year. He will be a 19 year old who has another small player. If Preston makes a move, he needs to make the deal for likely a good 17/18 year old player who in proven already that he can play in the WHL. Doing this he will need more than players to trade in the deal, but likely some of his accumulated high end draft picks. This being the case, he would need to make the move before the WHL draft.

If Sofilas is healthy next year he will likely be in tough to make the Hurricanes roster in 2012/2013 with the players coming up next year.
