Hmmmmm. I wonder what this could be about!
The WHL has called a news conference for Wednesday, April 20th at 12:30pm (Alberta time). A "Major" announcement will be made on the main concourse inside the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in downtown Victoria. I guess it appears we will finally find out what many have specualted for weeks now that the Western Hockey League is heading back to Vancouver Island.
Stay tuned..........

What a joke! WHL Big Boys club just adds a new member. All at the expense of the Chilliwack fans, advertisers and players. So what club now fills the void in Chilliwack? Regina, SC, Kootenay? or worse still, no club.
ReplyDeleteAt first you don't what is it again? Try try again they will I guess. Too bad for all players who have to deal with taking boats to Victoria. A scheduling nightmare. Boo WHL
ReplyDeleteThe WHL should automatically bill this new Victorian team for ALL the Ferry charges and wasted time that ALL the WHL teams are going to incur getting to their rink. What a stupid move by the league! And speaking of stupid... In equity, put KOOTENAY back in the Western Conference where they belong. Make it 11 teams per conference rather than 10 vs 12!! - Richie.
ReplyDeleteGreat move by the league going to Victoria!

What slap in the face to Salmonking fans who have supported this team over the years when WHL moved out.
ReplyDeletePutting Kootenay in the BC division would be a travel nightmare, 3 mountain passes just to get to the nearest team in Kelowna. It's closer for Kootenay to get to Regina than it is to Vancouver.
ReplyDeleteSo who fills the void in Chilliwack? Or does the Big Boys Club (that just got bigger) give a damn?
