Hurricanes Host Regina Pats

The Lethbridge Hurricanes host the Regina Pats tonight at the ENMAX Centre.

The two hockey clubs remain tied with 45 points each in the Eastern Conference standings, three points back of 8th place Brandon and four points behind the 7th place Swift Current Broncos. The Pats are coming off a 7-4 loss last night in Cranbrook to the Kootenay ICE. This sets up this very important head-to-head match-up.

As Fred and I spoke about on Monday night, this is as close to a must-win game as these two teams are going to get a this stage in the season. Both teams have 18 games remaining in the regular season including this one tonight. As for the Hurricanes, it looks like they will have at least one player back in the line-up tonight. Cason Machacek will return after serving a 5 game suspension. As for Austin Fyten and Tyler Kizuik, they remained sidelined with injury and likely won't go tonight. Fyten has missed the Hurricanes passed three games with an infection and Kizuik has been out the last couple of weeks with a shoulder problem. Both players could return as early as Friday when the Canes' host Prince George.

Game tonight from the ENMAX Centre is 7:00 (MST). The pre-game show on CJOC at 6:30.

Thanks,

Pat

  1. I can't believe how pumped I am to get to the enema centre to watch this battle of dub cellar-dwellers tonight! Time to see which under-achieving team wants a chance at the post-season? - We find out tonight.

Glad to read that our local boy Cason is back in skates tonight. I hope the stars are in alignment for his first goal of the year tonight (maybe first AND second). He had an awesome 3-on-5 shorthanded goal against Dead Rear in exhibition; hard to believe he is the last of the "regular" team to score in regular season. Maybe time for CASON on the blueline taking shots on the PP!! - Richie.
