Hurricanes Host Wheat Kings & Honour 1951 Maple Leafs

The Lethbridge Hurricanes will play host to the Brandon Wheat Kings tonight in their first home game in 10 days.

The Canes' are two points out of the final playoff position in the Eastern Conference and lead the Wheaties by one point, making this another very important game for Lethbridge. For the second week in a row, the Hurricanes will play four games in five nights starting this evening. Tomorrow Lethbridge travels to Red Deer and then on the weekend it back-to-back against the Kootenay ICE Friday and Saturday. That will close out the Hurricanes January portion of the schedule.

As you know by now, tonight is a very special night as the Hurricanes will honour the 1951 Lethbridge Maple Leafs. The Hurricanes will wear a special jersey for the game that is an exact replica of the original Maple Leeafs jersey. The World Amateur Hockey Championship trophy will also be at the game tonight along with a couple of the surviving members of the team and over 100 family members of players who've passed on. The on-line auction for these special jersey continues until Saturday. You can place a bid by visiting http://www.hurricanesauction.com/.

Game time is 7:00 pm (MST). The pre-game show on CJOC at 6:30.

Thanks,
Pat
