Hurricanes This Week

The Hurricanes are back in town for the next few weeks after making a whirlwind trip out east for just two games.

The Canes' put more than 2000 km on the bus in three days of travel out to Brandon and Moose Jaw. The team came back with just a single point, losing in overtime to the Wheat Kings and getting shutout the following night to the Warriors. Lethbridge has played 21 games to this point in the season and sit in a tie for 4th place in the WHL's Eastern Conference with a record of 10-7-1-3. The Canes' are just a single point ahead of Moose Jaw and Medicine Hat and six points back of the Red Deer Rebels.

After what's been a busy, but successful set of games for the Hurricanes (7 games in 11 nights), things are a little less hectic for the hockey club over the next two weeks and really when you you look at the Canes' schedule between now and the Christmas break, things look not too bad. The Hurricanes don't have any overnight road trips until after the break, so this is a chance for this team to make some hay at the ENMAX Centre and in a few rinks close to home.

Coming up this weekend, the Hurricanes will host Prince Albert on Friday and Saskatoon Saturday. Both of those games are part of the Hurricanes second annual "Pink in the Rink" event. The following week the Canes' will take on two teams in the Eastern Conference they've yet to face this season. Lethbridge will host Red Deer November 24th and then play three straight games over the course of 5 days against the Swift Current Broncos.

Hurricanes This Week

Another edition of Hurricanes This Week hits the airwaves Monday night at 6:00 (MST) on CJOC. Fred and I will be joined by Hurricanes Assistant Coach Chris Chisamore. After that we'll head to Kamloops and speak with WHL Insider Gregg Drinnan from the Kamloops Daily News, and then in the final segment of the program, we will welcome Les Lazaruk, the radio voice of the Saskatoon Blades. As always, if you miss the show LIVE, you can always download it the following day on iTunes or on the our website: http://www.cjocfm.com/.
