Canes' President Attends World Hockey Summit

Lethbridge Hurricanes President Brian McNaughton has been invited to attend the 2010 Molson Canadian World Hockey Summit held in Toronto this week.

McNaughton was invited to go as part of the Western Hockey League delegation including Commissioner Ron Robison, Vice President of Hockey Rick Doerksen, Chairman of the Board of Governors Bruce Hamilton, Saskatoon Governor/President Jack Brodsky, Vancouver Governor Ron Toigo and Brandon Governor Kelly McCrimmon.

“The Molson Canadian World Hockey Summit is an event designed to dissect the current state of hockey and collaboratively identify and address key concerns and issues facing the game today. The Summit’s theme, Global Teamwork Promoting the Growth of the Game, will be brought to life through interactive seminars, presentations, and discussions led by the who’s who of the global hockey world from the IIHF, the NHL, Hockey Canada, USA Hockey, and the CHL.” (from World Hockey Summit website - www.worldhockeysummit.com)

The event will involve a who’s who of the hockey world including Hockey Canada president/CEO Bob Nicholson, Canadian Hockey League commissioner Dave Branch, National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman, VANOC CEO John Furlong, IIHF President Rene Fasel and many more players, alumni, coaches and administrators from both the Men’s and Women’s game.

The event will run from August 23-26 from the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Air Canada Centre and the Sheraton Centre Hotel in Toronto.
